Glazing Renovations are specialist in high level difficult access glass replacements to building facades, atriums, roof-lights and canopies. The specialist projects department is made up from some of the most experienced technical, time served, professionals within the commercial glazing industry. Over many years the team at Glazing Renovations have undertaken and safely delivered numerous high-profile projects on many of the UK’s most prestigious buildings working alongside leading facility management and construction companies.
Our project team and site managers are able to specify safe method of works to conduct glass replacements, causing minimal disruptions to the client and the daily operational running of the building.
Our teams are experienced and set to undertake works outside of normal working hours utilising specialist access and lifting equipment to safely complete the works. During a commercial glass replacement, Glazing Renovations are able to supply all necessary access equipment including MEWPs, cranes, road closures and all associated pedestrian and traffic management requirements to ensure the project is completed with site safety at the forefront of any works.
Glazing Renovations have our own highly experienced and IRATA trained rope access teams that are frequently called upon to undertake difficult access projects. Having these teams allows us to alleviate the requirement for expensive and disruptive fixed scaffolds and access equipment. Using our rope access teams where possible also enables us to reduce the duration of works as a result of the rapid set-up and take down of the rope access equipment.
Leaking glazing systems can be very disruptive to the daily operations of commercial buildings. Due to the design of many commercial buildings the glazing tends to be located above or within critical high footfall areas and leaks can often cause major health and safety slip risks to tenants and members of the public.
Glazing systems are reliant on EPDM weather gaskets and sealant to keep them weather tight and serviceable, their components are susceptible to age and weather-related dilapidation and do have a serviceable lifespan.
Glazing Renovations have extensive experience in leak detection and rectification works to high level and overhead glazing systems. Over many years Glazing Renovations have specified and perfected methods of leak rectification that will upgrade the glazing systems and bring them back up to a safe and fully serviceable condition. This service typically includes the stripping back of the leaking glazing area and installing back-up membranes, new system compatible EPDM weather gaskets, new fixings and the application of purpose designed sealants. Our trained technicians deliver projects from single leaks point of water ingress to full major overhaul projects; upgrading total atriums, roof-lights and facades.
Glazing Renovations only use purpose designed and system compatible components in conjunction with correct installation methods. This allows us to confidently give our clients a rectification solution backed up with lengthy water ingress guarantees.
Glazing Renovations specialist technical team offer a wide range of glazing inspection and report services covering the entire building envelope; including glazed roof atriums, roof-lights, curtain wall facades, canopies, windows, balustrades and internal building glazing.
All of our glazing inspections are tailored to the exact requirement of each client and these will typically cover condition and dilapidation, H&S and compliance, structural integrity, visual and intrusive inspection.
Our client reports are comprehensive including a full photographic schedule of conditions coving all defects and health and safety concerns, specification of all glazing and system components, prioritised rectification recommendations along with recommendations of component serviceable lifespan allowing for planned future budgeting and maintenance of the glazing system.
Our technical teams are fully trained in all areas of access including MEWP, cradle systems, gantry systems and rope access which allows for inspections to be conducted to all buildings and glazed structures.
In conjunction with our glazing expertise, Glazing Renovations also have technical team members fully trained in the inspection, testing and repair of stone, marble, brick and rendered facades and elevation sections.
As building designs increase in height and size, coupled with cities and towns becoming more populated, conventional fixed scaffolding and access methods have become very expensive and disruptive. Often these conventional methods require local authority permits, road closures and lengthy planning. On many of our glazing projects, commercial rope access and abseiling has progressively become the preferred method to overcome the expense and disruption caused by utilising conventional access methods. Rope access and abseiling is a safe and practical access solution that allows Glazing Renovations to offer our clients the most cost-efficient option to undertake their required glazing repair and maintenance projects.
Glazing Renovation rope access technicians are all fully trained Level 3 IRATA (Industrial Rope Access Trade Association) technicians. By employing only Level 3 technicians ensures our teams are highly experienced in specialist rigging and multi-skilled tradesmen, allowing them to conduct and assist in a variety of different glazing projects from façade inspections to high level glass replacements and leak repairs at height and in difficult to access locations.
Glazing Renovations offer many tailored preventative glazing maintenance packages to clients across the UK & Europe. Our servicing and preventative glazing maintenance covers glazed atriums, roof-lights, canopies, windows & facades and are designed to keep the structures in a fully safe and serviceable condition year on year.
It’s proven that correct maintenance can triple the serviceable lifespan of a typical commercial glazing and window system. Our glazing servicing works include health and safety inspection, full glass and component cleaning, torque testing, weather gasket adjustment and replacement, sealant adjustment and replacement, replacement of missing or defective components, window hardware servicing and replacement.
Our technical team will initially visit your site and inspect the structure / building and then purpose design a maintenance and servicing package to ensure all components and glazing servicing requirements are considered correctly. Depending upon the structure, service packages are normally conducted on a bi-annual or annual basis and all packages are covered by a full guarantee for the lifespan of the contract.
